Rocky Mountain Element C30
Colour: Bad to the Bone / Smokin' in the Boys Room
Short description
A lightweight carbon trail bike that climbs efficiently, descends with confidence, and is right at home on the fast, technical trails around the Shoalhaven.
Full description
The Rocky Mountain Element Carbon 30 sits in that sweet spot between a fast cross-country bike and a trail bike that isn't scared when things start getting interesting.
With 120mm of rear travel and a 130mm Marzocchi Z2 fork, the Element is built to pedal efficiently on the climbs while still giving you the confidence to push harder on technical singletrack and descents. Rocky Mountain's Smoothwall carbon frame keeps things light and responsive, while the adjustable Ride-4 geometry lets you fine-tune the bike to suit your riding style and terrain.
A Shimano 12-speed drivetrain provides a wide gear range for long climbs, while the Maxxis Rekon 2.4 tyres and tubeless-ready wheels give the bike plenty of grip and capability when the trail points downhill.
This isn't a nervous little XC race bike that starts questioning its life choices as soon as the trail gets rough. The Element is designed for riders who want to cover ground efficiently but still have plenty of fun getting back down.
Highlights
Smoothwall Carbon frame and rear triangle
120mm rear travel
Marzocchi Z2 Rail 130mm fork
Fox Float DPS Performance rear shock
Rocky Mountain Ride-4 adjustable geometry
Shimano SLX/Deore 12-speed drivetrain
Shimano hydraulic disc brakes
Maxxis Rekon 2.4 tubeless-ready tyres
Tubeless-ready WTB wheels
X-Fusion Manic dropper post
Best suited to: Riders looking for a fast, lightweight trail bike that can happily smash out the climbs without becoming boring when the trail gets rough.
Why we like the Element
The Element hits a really nice balance for the riding we do around the Shoalhaven. It's efficient enough that you're not regretting your life choices halfway up the climb, but capable enough to have some proper fun on the way back down.
